Oh how funny! Last time I wrote (many moons ago!) the children were going back to school the next day and just by coincidence the children are going back to school again tomorrow.
We have had the last six weeks off for summer. We have all weather types, apart from snow! The first two weeks were glorious and luckily these are the two weeks I had off work. We camped during week one down on the Lizard with the lovely Lizard hehe. Liz, Tom and Ruby joined us. Wendy and her boys also came down for a day to join in the fun. The second week we stayed at home and started our 'house detox' and watched the Olympic games in London. It was so exciting and we all seemed to spend an unhealthy amount of time drinking tea and watching the telly (also shouting and squeeling !!). The next week Ben and I had to return to work but still watched the olympics in the evening. We had a couple of really nice days and I took the children to Bude, with Wendy the first day and Andi and Tanya the second. Tamsyn spent the whole time playing in the sea pool and Emily and Sam spent it in the sea. One day they didn't come out for 3 1/2 hours!!
Sadley the weather then took a nose dive and it's rained and rained the rest of the time. I have decided that if we can afford it I would like to take us all away next year to find some real sun - the type that comes out to play for more than a couple of days at a time!
So much has happened over the last few months since I last wrote anything. The Queen celebrated her Diamond jubilie. And as we love her we celebrated in her honour. We went to the towns 'big lunch' a picnic in the park. We danced to music, drank Pimms and watched fireworks up at Coronation park (very appropriate venue) and we joined in the 'gorilla/community gardening day' organised by the Eden project. We also watched the Flotila and the Queens Royal procession on the telly (we watched this at Kates house drinking more Pimms and Prosecco. The children and I had such fun. I have not had such a celebration filled weekend ever. My Emma Bridgewater tea pot and mugs looked fantastic and made my tea taste all the better for their royalness hehe
I was a very lucky lady a few weeks ago as I got to go to Germany with Ben's cousin Claire. I was there to look after her little girl Alexa who is the cutest thing ever and only 20 months at the time. We mooched around Leipzig while Claire had to work at a conference. We had a fab time feeding ducks and finding play parks. We went to the zoo and went to a city concert. On the last day we even stumbled upon a bubble 'flash mob' by the main fountain it looked amazing and Alexa loved it. I really enjoyed spending some time wiith a small person again (apart from when she screamed in the night!!!! that wasn't so much fun). I forgot how quick they are at running around and getting into trouble! I quite missed her when I got home.
We have had birthdays, weddings and engagements and lots of reasons (some made up hehe) to celebrate and drink gin!
Samuel left primary school in July and is starting Launceston college tomorrow!! He is quite nervous and so am I for him. It seems quite strange that now I will have two of the little langs at big school. Tamsyn is going into year 4 so still has a little while to go but I think she will miss Samuel to defend her in times of peril!!
He looks very cute in his uniform although I'm not allowed to say that :-(. I have to go now and help him get eveything ready and packed so he's organised in the morning.
I'm going to take all the pictures off my phone tonight then I can post them all here to show you what we have been up to this holidays. Fun fun fun and chaos as usual. I'm really sad that the holiday has come to an end and we all have to get back to being organised and back into the habbit of doing homework and getting tea in good time and rugby and ......! the list is endless and I'm not going to think about it until tomorrow morning xxxxxx
